Advisors

Claudia Maldonado is the Founder and CEO at Atrevida Science and holds a degree in Industrial Engineering. She has worked in manufacturing and quality and led business startups throughout her 30-year career with organizations such as Westinghouse and National Instruments and large scale energy deployments projects for the Department of Energy.

Ed Tierney is the Chief Strategist and a Systems Engineer and High Reliability Manufacturing
Executive. He provides expertise in connecting long-term strategic vision to tactical execution. His international, technical, and business experience in developing strategic relationships leverages “lesson learned” from many years of European offshore wind O&M experience.

Hailie Suk is the Technical Director, a State University of New York - University at Buffalo (UB) PhD graduate, and expert in cyber-physical-social systems modeling. Her work promotes robust design and reliable operation of renewable resources, energy production, distribution, and for consumer demand and involves data analytics, machine learning, and decision-making.

Dr. John Hall is the Science Advisor, a State University of New York - University at Buffalo (UB) professor, and the Director of the Systems Realization Laboratory (ESDRG). Dr. Hall has worked for over 12 years on wind energy technology which has also been the focus of his research group at UB. He has over 20 years of industrial experience and is a licensed Professional Engineer.

David Atwood is the Industry Advisor, currently working for Vineyard Wind, and formerly Head of Integrated Management Systems & Governance for Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy. He provides expertise in offshore windpower with a deep understanding of the quality, R&D, sales, procurement, production, warehouse, logistics, and service functions.

Our Interns

Lishel Aquinas is a Software Development/Data Analysis Lead. She has an undergraduate and Master of Science in Computer Science from Syracuse University.

She brings practical experience in software development and data analysis and has a strong background as a frontend, back end, and full-stack developer.

James Roetzer is a Modeling/Simulation for Blade Design Intern. He has dual BS degrees in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering. He is in his 2nd year of the PhD program Mechanical Engineer at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Kyan Sadeghilari is a Modeling/Simuation for Loads and Blade Design Intern. He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering (minor: mathematics) and a MS in Mechanical Engineering (concentration: fluids and thermal sciences).
